The term ‘conference chairs’ is a rather overarching description. In fact, many other details are factored in before settling on the right chair for the intended use. What is almost universal nowadays though is the ability to stack.
Alpha’s range of auditorium seating covers all bases, and budgets. With different chairs offering stacks of between 8 to 60 chairs, the required efficiency is achieved with at least one of our offering.
Depending on who is moving the chairs, and how often, weight is also often an important factor to consider. Alpha’s lightweight stacking chair options are similarly broad. For example the SB2M chair at just 5kg provides a comfortable lightweight option, and stacks to 25 – as is typical for an upholstered skid base chair.
Traditional 4-Leg options are also still popular, and now with improved ‘stackability’. These too can stack up to 25 high on a purpose made dolly, or alternatively be transported with a universal trolley.
The majority of our conference range is also well suited to formal and informal use at tables. This provides flexibility and versatility for the conference space. If food and drink are of concern, a wipe clean faux leather upholstery is available. Alternatively a plastic seat/back option provides the same impervious finish with improved stacking efficiency.
Canterbury Chair
Green credentials are improving across the furniture industry, no more so than the Canterbury chair in one of 4 100% recycled plastic finishes. Combined with 38% of the steel frame being recycled, the full chair is recyclable. A manufacturer guaranteed buy-back option also exists for a drive towards the circular economy. Stacking up to 45 high, the Canterbury chair is one of the best performers for stacking as well as comfort. A customisable, battery-free numbering system is also a unique option.

Fixed Seating
Complementary auditorium seating provides continuity, either as the same upholstered finish or often with a matching style to the loose ground floor seating. Samples are again available for testing, but as a complete bespoke option can often be modified to suit the capacity, improve comfort, or add collapsible writing desks.
