Alpha Furniture recently supplied 320 of our JACOB lightweight, high stacking wooden chairs to St Mary’s Church, Ely.
They have undertaken a major and stunning re-ordering, making St Marys an excellent community space and setting it up for generations to come. By removing the pews, the church have created a much more flexible area, allowing not only multiple formats for worship, but more community use during the week.
The church tested around a dozen chairs from several suppliers. Alpha’s Jacob chair was shortlisted and then selected as the most appropriate chair for the project. This was no mean feat – as the criteria included these requirements:
- look appropriate in the Grade I listed historic building
- sail through the DAC Faculty process
- stack efficiently, taking minimum space when stored
- be comfortable for forecast events of differing duration
- be of a manageable weight to be cleared on a regular basis
- have a good track record with existing customers
- have an easy to use linking option
With these boxes ticked and the option of integral arms and floor protection, the PCC knew they had the right chair for them. Furthermore the chair cost little over half the price of some others under consideration. The dolleys allow the Jacob chair to stack 20 high, and will also stack together when empty.
To accompany their stacking chairs, Alpha Furniture also supplied St Marys with round folding tables – helping them to truly serve their community even better for years to come. With both chairs and tables in a beech finish, they work exceptionally well together. The tables likewise store on trolleys when not in use.
Of course every customer deserves great service alongside our great products. We’re delighted that in his Google Review Piers, called it ‘First class service.’
