Earlier in 2020 Alpha Furniture had the privilege of supplying 300 stacking chairs to St Botolph’s Church in Boston, Lincs.

They found us online, called us with their priorities and we duly took a selection of our Cathedral range stacking church chairs to them in person.

The whole St Botolph’s team was present and our excellent Gloucester stacking cathedral chair was selected as the favoured solution.

The team wanted a chair in keeping with this amazing historic church’s interior. They wanted one that would stack around 40 high, be comfortable for lengthy concerts etc., and be available in a darker stain to complement the central pews, which for the foreseeable are to remain.

The new chairs will be used in the aisle and the rear when full capacity is required, some pews having been removed. By virtue of stacking up to 40 high on approximately half a square metre, the chairs can be economically stored away when not required.

St Botolph’s is a prime case whereby the main seating need not be the same as the supplementary seating. This is a solution which can often be the best way forward. This is especially so if the pews-out/chairs-in debate has proved contentious and/or if the weekly attendance is significantly lower than the total capacity.

Alpha offer a wide range of stacking church chairs and benches, which offer both main and supplementary solutions, whatever the interior or budget.
