Alpha were delighted recently to deliver the second tranche of Howe 40/4 high stacking chairs for the newly re-ordered nave at Christ Church, Fulwood. This takes their total number to 420.
We were able to help guide the church through the chair testing process despite all of the additional hurdles of lockdowns that the past couple of years has provided. Making use of our free, no-obligation sample service, Christ Church were able to make a decision on the chairs long before the final completion of the project. They also opted to take delivery of the first 150 in 2021 while they met for worship in the church centre. Alpha were happy to cater for this without an adverse affect on the price of the chair.
The Howe 40/4 chair as the name suggests stacks 40 high in one pile. They provide a fitting compliment to the ‘invisible’ pillars. Part of a previous project, these ensure there’s not a bad seat in the house! The slender chrome plated frames fit beautifully. The light oak veneer provides an interesting and deliberate contrast with the darker original wooden features, in line with the new Oak doors.
Adding welded links to the chairs has provided an easy to use method of producing neat rows. What’s more, these rows can be either straight or slightly curved. Adopting a typical ratio of around 10% with arms, those requiring help to get up and down are catered for. The armchairs also interlink and inter-stack with the chairs without arms.
Dolleys allow the chairs to stack 40 high on 0.47 square metres. As such, the area can be completely cleared into minimal storage space. Catering for a more flexible space for a multitude of activities was one of the key criteria for the project. We are so pleased to have helped the church achieve their aim, and look forward to helping more.
